Darrell "Wayne" Hathaway, 91, of Vandalia, IL, passed away at 8:15 AM, Monday, July 01, 2024 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
Per Wayne's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia with Rev. Fr. Seth Brown officiating. Military Rites will be accorded at the graveside by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post # 95, Vandalia, IL & Brownstown VFW Post #9770. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Darrell Wayne Hathaway was born on August 27, 1932 in Patoka, IL, the son of Robert J. and Mabel R. (Watkins) Hathaway. Wayne was a proud military veteran having served in the United States Army from 1952-1954, during the Korean War. He married Betty Jean Jackson in May of 1969.
